Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)

Supervisors play an essential role in creating and maintaining a work environment that is free of discrimination and harassment and that respects, appreciates, and values individual differences. This objective is achieved both by upholding Equal Employment Opportunity regulations, which are legally mandated, and by implementing the GSFC Diversity Strategic Plan, which focuses on voluntary efforts to promote equity and inclusion in its broadest sense (see Diversity). The supervisor’s role is so important that NASA includes an EEO and Diversity Performance Standard in all supervisory performance plans.
