Promotion

Career Promotion – A change of an employee to a higher grade within the position’s established full performance level.

In addition to submitting an SF-52 through FPPS, the following paperwork is required:

Accretion Promotion – A change of an employee to a higher grade when the employee assumes higher graded duties and responsibilities (and retains the original duties)

In addition to submitting an SF-52 through FPPS, the following paperwork is required:

Approval Authority -  Promotion authority for all grades is delegated to the Branch Heads (or equivalent).  Division Chief concurrence will be required for promotions to GS-14 and Director of concurrence required to GS-15.

Timeframe:  Promotion will be effective within 1 week of receipt of complete package in Code 113.  Promotions are effective at the beginning of a pay period.
