Senior Scientific and Technical Pay System

This pay system covers Senior Scientific and Technical (SST) positions. These are non-managerial positions that are above the GS-15 level, which carry out research and development functions, primarily in the physical and natural sciences, and which require the services of specially qualified personnel. This pay system has 6 levels plus Range "C" each with a single rate (no steps). Only the Center Director or the NASA Administrator can approve advancement to higher levels.
