Individual Development Planning (IDP) for Supervisors

Overview: An Individual Development Plan (IDP) is a tool used for employees to plan their professional development along with his or her supervisor. Although individual employees write their own IDP, supervisors have a very important role in assisting them to create a roadmap for identifying work experiences, learning experiences, training and other activities that contribute to their development and job performance. It includes assessing the employee’s competencies and skill gaps in relation to current and/or future job requirements and organizational goals, then identifying appropriate training and other developmental experiences.

In this interactive workshop, supervisors will learn tools and techniques that will assist them in coaching their employees through the IDP process and preparing them for how to have these career discussions.
