- Has directed and/or led major pioneering development or mission efforts having great relevance to NASA core business and resulting in significant contributions to new programs, meeting NASA commitments, and/or establishing new research and development goals and missions.
- Has served as a discipline or systems lead within a broad engineering discipline area; and has been sought by others to organize, access, and use skills that are needed to get the job done.
- Has been recognized as an authority in the field and sought by high levels of management and individuals for expert consultation in a rapidly evolving discipline, having extensive and far-reaching impact on NASA programs, missions, and/or research and development focus areas.
- Has received national and international recognition or exposure for work (e.g., awards, emails, visits, oral and written communication) from Program/Project Managers, Engineering Center Chiefs, Directors, Center Director, HQ, other NASA Centers, Congress, International Partners, Federal Agencies, State Local Government, and/or Industry.
- Has chaired critical directorate and Center level committees, and/or participated on agency committees.
- Has provided constructive, informal training, coaching, and/or mentoring that can be shown to address developmental needs, experience, and skills of team members or staff.
- Has demonstrated responsibility by insuring the integrity of processes and constructively working to meet NASA goals.
- Has provided expert advice and consultation that has influenced the overall success of an agency program, process improvement, or advancement of new technical solutions and/or technology.
- Has represented the agency as a recognized authority in committees and/or meetings.
- Has integrated and coordinated the efforts of others to meet requirements.
- Has established collaborative partnerships with industry, academia, other government agencies, or other NASA centers that resulted in savings of time, money, and/or technologies that can be infused to meet current or future goals.
- Has impacted the success of a major development effort or mission at the flight project level within budgetary and schedule requirements.
