- Has led and advised in planning, organizing, and directing mid-size development efforts for specific missions and/or broad programs that advanced the state of the art, solved a particular problem in a new way, or resolved critical and severe issues or problems where engineering precedents were lacking.
- Has worked with multiple organizations and/or coordinated efforts of diverse groups to reach a common goal.
- Has utilized teaming arrangements and led teams of engineers and technicians of different disciplines.
- Has managed work relationships with diverse groups and individuals in a positive manner by listening to others’ ideas, reaching consensus, negotiating when necessary, suggesting solutions, and treating all others in a fair, respectful, and impartial manner.
- Has led a group of individuals in achieving a long-term goal and/or solving a difficult or unique problem.
- Has initiated improvement in areas where new design ideas or methodologies provided significant advancement toward meeting NASA goals.
- Has developed and converted clear, overall objectives into technology or product development programs and policies for others to use; has served as branch expert in an engineering discipline area; or has worked independently on a mission project or instrument as a systems engineer.
- Has developed and delivered oral briefings or presentations at high-level meetings or conferences using data, facts, or logical arguments to negotiate critical issues and/or influence others to a point of view.
- Has impacted the success of an important development effort or flight project at the system or subsystem level within budgetary and schedule requirements.
- Has received recognition for work (e.g., letters of appreciation) from peers, project management, line managers, and/or members of the engineering community.
- Has stayed abreast of and actively communicated professional technical knowledge and new information to others.
- Has provided constructive, informal training, coaching, and/or mentoring that can be shown to address developmental needs, experience, and skills of team members or staff.
