Approval of Training Requested

The decision to approve a training request is based on several important factors. Requested training should be mission related and designed to improve the trainee's job performance or contribute to learning which benefits the organization. The decision to approve a training course is solely a management prerogative. Requests should be justified on the basis of how the course will improve the trainee's job performance in his or her current position or a function closely related to a projected position, or contributes to learning beneficial to the organization. "Fulfilling degree requirements" cannot be used as a course justification.
